Aquatic ornamental plants: invaders of the past and, above all, of the not so distant future

A large number of plants have been introduced to Québec for ornamental purposes. Few have become invasive and harmful, although for several aquatic plants, notably, this is the case. Notorious invaders are on the market and are sold as plants that are not hardy enough to withstand Québec winters. However, this situation is about to change with global warming.
