An inspiring (and a little bit utopian) conference born from an innovative vision of the future: burying the traffic lanes of Highway 40 in Montreal under the surface of the ground and using the suspended structure to create the world’s largest urban vegetable garden/orchard! Approximately 50 tons of tomatoes and more than 2 million apples, pears and plums could be harvested each year. A nourishing garden that would provide for the food needs of a large part of Montreal’s population.
