A Greener Expo Than Ever
For the 2025 edition, Expo Québec Vert is aiming to become “even greener” by adopting a sustainable development plan. An eco-responsible expo means, among other things, reducing waste at the source, sorting it properly, integrating new habits within the organizing team, raising awareness among exhibitors, visitors, and partners, and documenting our approach to establish a clear picture of the situation.
New in 2025
Thanks to a new collaboration with Arbre-Évolution, the carbon footprint associated with travel by our exhibitors, volunteers and staff was offset in 2025 through community reforestation projects in Québec.
A concrete way to reduce our impact—and make our actions even greener.
Our Other Actions
In addition to offsetting travel-related emissions, here are some of the concrete actions we are taking:
- Recovery of recyclable and compostable materials;
- Calculation of greenhouse gas emissions by the Québec Council for Eco-Responsible Events to establish a baseline;
- Requesting that food truck suppliers use eco-friendly utensils;
- Donating surplus plants to a local social economy organization.
Your Contribution
Why not help us by adopting eco-responsible behaviors before and during the Expo? It’s easier than you think! Here are a few ideas:
- Bring your reusable water bottle and coffee (or tea) mug;
- Place your waste in the right bins: Espace St-Hyacinthe provides sorting stations for compost, recycling, and garbage;
- Trade shows mean pamphlets! Avoid printing large quantities of paper that will end up in the trash… Instead, you could print one copy and add a QR code;
- Choose local purchases and Québec-made products;
- If possible, plan to carpool—it’s much more enjoyable to share;
- Opt for public transit or active transportation when visiting.
