Urban forest research chair – UQAM

The Urban forest research chair collaborates with municipalities to develop resilient urban forests adapted to climate change and capable of improving citizens’ health and well-being. It develops knowledge, expertise, and decision-support tools to optimize urban tree planting, management, and diversification. Its work focuses on maximizing ecosystem services, reducing environmental inequalities, and enhancing physical and mental health benefits for urban populations. The Chair also supports the training of highly qualified professionals and promotes public awareness of the importance of trees and biodiversity in cities.
